Overview
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") describes what's allowed and what's not on Zenix infrastructure. It applies to all customers using Managed Hosting, Essential Hosting, and any other Zenix-hosted services.
We curate clients deliberately. This keeps our infrastructure clean, fast, and secure for everyone on it, including you.
Violations of this policy can result in warning, suspension, or termination as described below.
Sites we host
We typically accept:
- Static and small business websites: portfolios, brochure sites, service pages, landing pages.
- Custom business platforms built or audited by us, internal tools, dashboards, customer portals.
- Small WooCommerce stores doing under 500 orders per month on Essential Hosting (no traffic cap on Managed Hosting).
- CMS-driven websites (WordPress, custom CMS) with reasonable plugin loads and traffic patterns.
- API backends and APIs for legitimate business use.
If you're not sure whether your project fits, contact us before signing up. We'd rather have an honest conversation upfront than terminate later.
Sites we don't host
The following are not permitted on Zenix infrastructure under any plan:
- Blogs and content-heavy publishing sites, these have specific bandwidth, comment-spam, and CPU profiles that don't fit our curated environment. Use a dedicated managed WordPress host (WP Engine, Kinsta) for these.
- Adult content, pornography, escort services, adult dating, or sexually explicit material of any kind.
- Gambling, betting, or casino-related sites, unless specifically pre-approved and properly licensed in your jurisdiction.
- SEO link farms, PBNs, or doorway sites, including networks of low-quality sites designed to manipulate search rankings.
- Email-sending platforms or bulk email infrastructure, newsletters, transactional email services, cold-email tools. Use a dedicated transactional provider (SendGrid, Brevo, Postmark).
- Crypto mining, token trading platforms, or wallets, any infrastructure supporting cryptocurrency operations.
- File storage, file sharing, or streaming services, including media servers, torrent trackers, video streaming.
- Sites we haven't reviewed first, even within categories we accept, every site is reviewed before onboarding.
Technical abuse
Even for accepted site types, you may not:
- Run scripts or applications that consume excessive CPU, memory, or disk I/O and degrade performance for other customers on the server.
- Use the service for distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks, port scanning, brute-force attempts against other systems, or any form of network attack.
- Run cryptocurrency mining software (including browser-based miners) or similar resource-intensive non-business workloads.
- Operate open relay or open SMTP servers.
- Use the service to host malware, viruses, or content designed to compromise visitors' devices.
- Attempt to circumvent server security, gain unauthorised access to other accounts, or perform security probes without our written consent.
- Resell hosting capacity to third parties without our written approval.
Content restrictions
You may not host or distribute content that:
- Infringes intellectual property rights (copyright, trademark, patent) of others.
- Promotes violence, terrorism, or harm to specific groups or individuals.
- Constitutes hate speech under Nigerian law or the laws of the country you primarily operate from.
- Sexualises minors in any way (zero tolerance, accounts are terminated immediately and reported to authorities).

Legal violations
You may not use Zenix services for anything illegal under:
- Nigerian federal or state law.
- The law of any jurisdiction in which your business primarily operates.
- The law of any jurisdiction targeted by your services.
This includes (without limitation): fraud, money laundering, illegal drugs, illegal arms trading, human trafficking, sanctions violations, tax evasion, identity theft.
How we enforce this
If we detect or are notified of a violation, we typically follow this process:
- Notice and request to remediate: we email you with the specific issue and a reasonable deadline (usually 24–72 hours depending on severity) to resolve it.
- Suspension: if not resolved, we may suspend the affected service. We'll notify you and explain what's required to restore it.
- Termination: continued or repeated violations result in account termination, with data export available for 30 days afterward.
Immediate suspension or termination may occur without prior notice for serious violations, child sexual abuse material, active malware distribution, severe DDoS source, court order, or other emergencies that threaten our infrastructure, our other customers, or third parties.
In cases of termination for AUP violations, no refunds are issued for the unused portion of prepaid service.
Reporting abuse
If you believe a site hosted by Zenix violates this policy, for example, you've received phishing emails from a Zenix-hosted site, or found content that breaks the law, please report it:
- Email: hello@zenix.ng with subject "AUP report"
- Include: the URL involved, the nature of the violation, and any evidence you have (screenshots, email headers, etc.)
We investigate all reports within 24 hours during working days. We don't share reporter information with the reported party unless required by law or court order.
